This video will demonstrate the steps to complete a remote ID verification in Fintracker:
Here are the steps:
1. Log in to the Fintracker app
2. From the "My Records" page, click the "+" icon
3. Select "New Remote ID"
4. In the pop-up, enter your client's name in the "Name" field
5. Choose whether to send via text message or email
6. If sending by text, enter the client's phone number. If sending by email, enter their email address.
7. Choose the language (English or French)
8. Select whether you want to add the remote ID verification to an Individual ID record or a Receipt of Funds record (or both)
9. Remember that each remote ID verification costs 1 credit.
10. Click send.
11. Your client will then receive an email with instructions to complete the verification. (client instructions below)
12. Once the client has completed the verification process, you will receive an email notification that the ID is approved or denied. You can then log back in to Fintracker and use the ID to complete your record.
Client instructions:
1. Remote ID verifications must be completed from their mobile device.
2. Find the email from Fintracker in the client's email inbox (on mobile device).
2. Open the email and click the link to "Begin remote ID verification:
3. Accept the terms and conditions to proceed with the verification
4. Select their country and enter the document ID (from their ID, i.e. their driver's license). Depending on the type of ID, it will prompt them to scan the necessary portions of the document, such as both the front and back of a driver's license.
5. Give permission to the application to access your camera
6. Position your license in the scanner view. For best results, put the document on a flat, contrasting surface in a well lit area. Make sure there is no glare and that the ID is not obstructed.
7. Fintracker will authenticate the document and also extract the required information from the ID and auto-populate the required fields in the appropriate record.
8. Repeat step 6 & 7 with the back of the ID
9. Next, verify your identity by scanning your face. The app will play a quick demo to show you what to do.
10. For best results, scan your face in a well lit area against a contrasting background. Look directly at the camera.
