When disclosing your client's occupation in section A1 of the Individual Identification Information Record (IIIR) in Fintracker, follow these guidelines to avoid a rejected record:
- Be specific - Clearly state your client's full job title, avoiding acronyms, jargon or short-form.
- Write out the full name of the employer - In the "employer" field, list the company's full legal name, avoiding acronyms or short forms.
- Remember, the goal is to provide an auditable record of the source of funds - You should provide sufficient, clear information that can be audited if needed. The goal is to justify the source of funds for the deal (how is the client getting the funds for this deal? does it make sense?)
- Consult additional help articles for specific scenarios - If you are working with a self-employed or unemployed client, please consult one of these help articles:
EXAMPLE - COMPLIANT
In this example, the agent has clearly listed the client's job title, employer, and industry.
EXAMPLE - NOT COMPLIANT
In this example, the agent has listed an acronym in the "Employer" field, making it more difficult to trace the employment history. Also, they have incorrectly listed "teacher" as the industry. This record could be rejected.
