Scanning your client's ID in the Fintracker app is a key part of verifying your client's identity. ID scanning eliminates the risk of errors from manual entry, and adds an extra layer of protection against fraudulent IDs.
To scan a client's ID in Fintracker, follow this guidance:
- Open the Fintracker mobile app. From the home page, click the + sign in the bottom right.
2. Click "New Individual Identification"
3. Click "Scan Photo ID" in the bottom right.
4. Read the instructions to scan the ID and click "continue".
5. Position the scanner over the barcode on the ID. (note - you may have to grant permission for Fintracker to use your camera, if you have not previously done this.)
6. The system will read the ID and auto-populate the applicable fields in the IIIR for you. Review the information and confirm it was input correctly.
7. Scroll to the "occupation" section and input information about your client's occupation. It's crucial that you complete this section accurately - consult this article on how to complete the occupation section for more information.
8. Confirm that the information about the ID was entered correctly (document number, type of ID, etc.) If everything is completed and there are no errors, click "ok".
That's it! You're now ready to move on to section B - Third party disclosure.
